Artizan spot light on stylist Liam Brown

Artizan are delighted to announce that our George St salon stylist Liam Brown has recently made the transition from junior to accomplished and much sought after hair stylist.

Liam joined us in 2009 and always has displayed a sheer quality and dedication for his work.

At Artizan we are dedicated to encouraging our staff to become actively invloved with opportunities such as photoshoots and events that we are approached to do. We believe this will provide a great insight for our stylists and allow them to demonstrate their own natural talent.

Liam was quick to accept an editorial shoot for modelling agent and model David Hill-Souch for a forthcoming media publication which was themed Hollywood and shot on location at the prestigious Royal Cresent Hotel in Bath.

The inspriation behind the two comprising looks given for model David, Liam created a relaxed and chilled feel from a single mens cut to demonstrate two different ways of styling it.

Staring of with a waxed but natural side parting to a more full bodied quiff.

Liam's cliental is growing rapidly and he is becoming quite the talk of the town, and quite rightly so with his flare and abilities in both Men's and Women's cuts and colours.

Beauty & the Geek

Artizan hair are delighted to have an ongoing affiliation with Bath based modelling agency SHOOTDHS Models.

Having worked closley together on many fantastic shoots, catwalk shows and events we were we yet again happy to work together on a editoral/advetising campaign.

Rob Cartwright company director of George St was provided with a brief and mood board from stylist and agent David Hill-Souch contrasting with images from the Armani underwear campaign featuring David and Victoria Beckham as well as a modern day twist on on a 60's revival geek chic look.

The shoot itself was split between two comprising looks and filmed in a derelict building.

Rob wanted to create a modern twist of the 60's beehive for model Samantha, which was created by adding volume to her hair with a hairpiece and backcoming her natural hair over the top. Leaving the back down and giving the style more width.

For model David for this particular look he gave him a natural wavey side parting based on the iconic legend Buddy Holly.

For the second look Rob created more sleek amd sculptural show pieces . For model David a simple but effective wet look side parting and model Samantha a more architectural and futuristic hairstyle.

This was created by creating two pony tails, one loose and the other sculptured with modeling wire to give height and a dramatic impact.

Amy Williams / Olympics 2012

Olympic effort and team of creatives at work

In advance of this years Olympic held in London we wanted to create a set of winning images to be published with our local magazines.

Our company director Zac Fennell is the personal hair stylist to Amy Williams (Vancouver 2010 Winter Gold Medalist and Ambassador for the 2012 Olympics).

Zac wanted to create a strong look that was centralized around the fact Amy was a torch bearer. A flame theme was a must and a variety of different looks and textures were used to do this.

Going from a soft loose curl to a more strong architectural look. Amy looked a million dollars and we are elated with the images and media interest.

Saturday Street Style / Bath in Fashion

Last Saturday fashion inspiration came alive on the streets of Bath.

In celebration of Bath in Fashion, shops throughout the city had some great offers and promotions, and in Bath Street, Southgate and Stall Street there were events throughout the day.

The Bath Chronical, sponsor of the Saturday, was behind a range of fashion-related happenings outside the Roman Baths in the centre of town.

The Chronical marquee had lots going on including free mini makeovers from one of the Body Shop's make-up artists and hand massages from Robyn / Artizan Hair and Nick Marshall / Aveda, who also provided the public with gorgeous free Aveda samples.

The marquee itself hosted an informal series of style guides throughout the course of the day compared by David Hill-Souch Company Director and Founder of Bath leading model agency SHOOTDHS Models.

The presenters included: Gabrielle Paxton, who - before setting up Bath's chic personal styling company, Viola Styling - was a personal stylist for fashion giants Whistles and French Connection. Emmeline Stevens from The Image Consultancy Company, advised how to work seasonal trends to complement your style and shape using professional models from SHOOTDHS Models. Vicky from The Body Shop who demonstrated key looks for the season ahead.

And Artizans Zac Fennell - co-director and stylist to Olympic champion Amy Williams, who demonstrated a series of live shows creating killer looks for both day and evening wear hair, including tips on how to get the most of of your hair and your hairdresser.

This was a great opportuntity to meet the Bath public and answer questions, as well as invite new guests to visit our leading salons.

Designer Fashion Show / Bath in Fashion

Day three saw a headlining fashion show held at the spectacular Bath Assembly Rooms, staged by international show producer John Walford. The finale fashion show of the week was a glittering occasion showcasing the season's trends and designers.

The inspiration behind this look was based on the iconic 60's beehive with a loose middle parting over the ears and sleek pony tail to the rear which made this vintage look more current and bang on trend.

Company director Zac Fennell again lead the creativity for this showcasing look and he was inspired by Dusty Springfield and Brigit Bardot.
